According to the prosecution, Ms. W. managed a marketing company in Berlin and presided over a lobbying group, which afforded her considerable connections within military and political circles. Starting from at least October 2023, she purportedly engaged with a dedicated Russian intelligence officer stationed at the Russian Embassy in Berlin.
The indictment states that Ilona W. frequently supplied the officer with intelligence regarding prominent gatherings and assisted him in gaining entry, occasionally using a false name. Prosecutors assert that the objective was to enable the Russian intelligence officer to cultivate his own network for intelligence purposes.
